Couple miles past Scenery Hill, A couple more before you hit Addison, PA. On a winding mountain highway I stopped to stretch my legs a bit, been driving most the day. And I couldn’t be any farther from home, But she couldn’t be any nearer ‘Cause these clouds are singing her favorite song. Her view of the world is so clear here. Ah, she’s a traveling girl…. Elizabeth Thomas’ world. Elizabeth Thomas is a traveling girl, And no map could show you what she’s seen of the world. The road is her companion, but not always her friend. The sky has no limits, and the road never ends in Elizabeth Thomas’ world. Elizabeth’s wheels are always turning. There’s always something that she’s waiting for a little ways ahead. And there’s a trail that she’s blazing. She says, “You gotta keep on moving or you’re gonna wind up dead.”

It’s funny how in times like these My heart feels like it’s going to squeeze right out of the top of my throat. It’s funny how in times like these I want to kick and scream, want to release it all, but I’m not that bold. And it’s funny, I never knew how I loved you till I had to leave. And now it just seems funny ‘Cause I’m trying to explain how Time slipped away And all he left behind was so much more to say, Like I love you and I want you in my life, and I’ll miss you. It’s funny how in times like these No cliché could ever please the soul that is letting go. It’s funny how in times like these Sorrow weaves a garment all her own, oh but I’m still cold. And it seems I’ve watched a million moments pass me by And I’ve never even grabbed a single sleeve. And now here I am, with a brand new pair of eyes And the moments keep grabbing me.

King 02:56
Do you think you’re the king of the world? Do you think you’re the king? Didn’t anyone ever give you a chance? Didn’t anyone ever give you a break? Don’t tell me you climbed to where you are without a helping hand. Did anyone ever give you advice? Have you ever learned from a mistake? Oh that’s right, you were born perfect, so why would you understand? Do you think you’re the king of the world? Do you think you’re the king of this 15 minute kingdom? ‘Cause 15 minute kingdoms fall. Did it ever occur to you that you don’t hold the only key to the door that stands before me and the world beyond? So go ahead, say what you will Compensate for your insecurities ‘cause I see right through you and that horse you’re on.

Emily 03:22
Emily was born in Nashville With a tarnished spoon in her mouth She felt that it was only natural To learn to spit it out So she locked up all her skeletons in the closet And threw away the key And her memory she somehow lost it Cause that’s the Southern way, you see But Emily wakes up to a drink And Emily doesn’t eat anymore Most days Emily is not so sure what she’s living for Emily I can see you dancing with desire Flirting with darkness, playing with fire So tell me is it worth it painting on that smile And playing dress up all the while You’re walking in a wire Emily’s only daddy was a signature on a check And what her stepfather used to do to her at night Well it’s enough to make you sick But Emily says she’s made her peace With the hand that she’s been dealt But she’s not fooling anybody With the exception of herself Emily wakes up to a drink and Emily doesn’t eat anymore Emily doesn’t care where she sleeps She’ll take your couch or your floor And most days Emily is not sure what she’s living for Lord knows how many times a day she thinks about Those pills in the drawer But Emily I can see you Emily I can see you Emily, Emily, I can see you
5.
Tenderly 03:58
Kiss me with the kisses of your mouth Consume me Your name is like a fragrance that’s poured out Onto me Just as the face of a flower turns toward the sun Oh draw me to you in this hour till I am undone Oh woo me, woo me, my Love With passion Pursue me, allure me my Love Tenderly Tenderly Tenderly So shade me with your canopy of love Embrace me Your touch is the epitome of all That shakes me Ignite like star kissing star within me your flame Then lay your head upon my chest and you’ll hear my heart beat your name
6.
I have no magic spells to cast, no grand seductions and no elaborate schemes. And I am not on the fast track to the cover of some fashion magazine. I am a girl with a voice, And part of me is still afraid of boys when they ask me for a dance. Oh I am heart and soul, I’m tears and dreams. There’s so much more to know than you can see. And if you’d give me half a chance, You’d know I’m worth more than a glance. I was never the pretty girl out on the football field being crowned homecoming queen. And it’d have to be a whole new world for this face to grace the silver screen. And I’m the girl whose mother always told her That beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Bittersweet 04:00
I left Nashville with a vengeance, and I drove 2,000 miles to forget about you. I thought if I could put some distance between me and all the places, I’d forget about you. I guess I’ve finally figured out that you can live without me ‘Cause I just started to taste the lies you were feeding me. ‘Cause you chewed me up, and you spit me out, and I’m just your memory. Ah, but it’s bittersweet. I guess we look like Adam and Eve ‘cause I’m still holding the fruit, but you got the blame. I have never been so deceived, I have never been so naive, and I will never be the same. Oh, you’re a snake, and it’s a lie that I was the apple of your eye. And I’m eating your words.

Hey Mister Appleby, how’s it going today? Did your smile stop working? Did you dog up and run away? ‘Cause when I say you by the mailbox you looked like you were going to die from some sort of heartache, and I said “Hey, hey, hey what do you say you and I cruise to the park and mosey the day away? ‘Cause the sunshine’s shining upon us, And the grass is dancing below. And you and I could make some music in a friendly kind of way, Hey hey Mister Appleby. Hey Mister Appleby, what are you trying to say? Did the cat steal your tongue? Did your thoughts take a holiday? ‘Cause you can buy me a soda, and we’ll pull up a bench; you can tell me all about it, all about your life, about your love, about the price you’ve paid. And we’ll splash into the fountain and wash your cares away. Hey Mister Appleby, I like your company, And did you hear the breeze write a song while the bird’s singing harmony? And I really had a good time today, and I want you to know I liked the part where your tears turned to laughter, and your smile broke free And now we’re skipping hand in hand beneath the shady trees Hmmmm…..

Call Me Baby 04:15
I didn’t have a clue Until you came by today And now you’re sitting here in my living room But you’re a million miles away And you’re talking about the state of the world And you’re talking about the state of your life And you’re talking about the state of us You’re telling me that you love me And you’re telling me that it’s over for now You’re telling me it’s a must I love you But you can’t stay, I know So please go Please, please go Go and find what you’re looking for And come back my way Someday, oh someday And call me baby I should’ve seen it coming I should’ve seen it in your eyes I should’ve read between the lines I feel so foolish I didn’t even notice Now I know why they say that love is blind And you’re telling me it’s not my fault You’re telling me that you’re confused You’re saying it’s not about me You don’t want to hold me back And you don’t expect me wait But baby can’t you see I know I can’t convince you that what I say is true but One last thing before you leave There is so much beauty That I see in you But you don’t know how to receive So go and find the truth And go and find your wings Go and touch the sky I’m gonna let you go But I’m holding onto hope That this is not goodbye
10.
I would shed a million tears for you if I knew a million tears would keep you from crying too. Fall like rain on your windowpane, again.
11.
I am afraid of the silence and what I might find there I am afraid of the light and what I might see But you say you don’t know Oh and time is a thing I can’t grasp and I cannot hold I’ve searched for an explanation but reason escapes me So I jump in the flood of tears and go where it takes me I lay down my burnt offering Even though it means everything to me Nakedness as far as I can see I’ll clothe myself in these ashes Clothe myself in these ashes The uncomfortable distance between your flesh and mine is It is waging a war in my soul, it’s taking it’s toll I see your eyes in the fire Your touch disappears in the flame Ignite and singe my desire Ashes to dust and ashes again
12.
I have no words. I have no inspiration. So I come to you for reconciliation. ‘Cause I am searching for Annie with the bright eyes, And I’m searching for Annie in the bright blue skies. And did you know that the sunshine belongs to her? I have no excuses. I have no one else to blame. So I come to you with no games. You want nothing more than to be understood. So I will listen long enough, I will listen long, and hard, I will listen long and hard and good I will leave you room to laugh. Will you let me love you like I should?
